Atomicom

Space is young, dark and scattered. Atoms drift alone, touching nothing, and in all that emptiness not one thing has ever been built. No water. No stone. No star with a planet worth the name.

That is what you are here to change.

Atomicom is a puzzle game about binding matter together. Atoms come to you one at a time. Place them on the board, let their loose electrons find a partner, and when every electron in a connected group has one, the molecule is finished: it holds, it leaves the board, and the universe keeps a piece of itself that did not exist a moment ago.

HOW IT PLAYS

  • An atom arrives in the glass cylinder below the board. Take it and drop it on any free square.
  • Atoms bond with the neighbours above, below, left and right of them. Never diagonally.
  • A green atom has one electron to give, yellow has two, orange three, red four. Blue atoms give nothing at all: they only take up room you were going to need.
  • Satisfy every electron in a connected group and the molecule forms and goes.
  • Run out of squares, or let the cylinder overflow, and the mission ends there.

300 MISSIONS

The board starts wide and gets smaller: twelve squares across, then ten, then eight, then a six by six where there is nowhere left to be careless. Every mission asks more than the one before it — more molecules, more obstacles in the way, heavier atoms that need more neighbours before they are satisfied — and every time the board shrinks you begin again at something gentle and climb back up.

MADE TO BE PLAYED BY EVERYONE

Atomicom is made by Tyflos Accessible Software. Accessibility here is not a switch in the settings, it is how the game is built.
